About

For the documents you have to read closely and cite.

Docwise is a reading tool, built around one sentence you need to find on one page.

Why the product exists

Most of the reading you cannot skip is reading you did not write: a paper someone else’s method rests on, a standard your work has to meet, a contract clause that decides what happens next, an annual report whose numbers you have to trust.

Those documents are long, and what you need from them is rarely a summary. It is the specific sentence, on a specific page, that says what you need it to say — and the page number beside it, because someone will ask you where it says that. Docwise exists to hand you that sentence with its page attached.

Who it is for

Graduate students and researchers working through literature that is not theirs. Analysts and consultants who have to quote a report accurately. Anyone reading a contract, a standard or a policy closely enough to be asked where it says that.

One reader, one document, one question at a time — the shape of the work, not a shared workspace around it.

What it does not do

Docwise reads one document at a time. It does not join several documents into one conversation, and it has no shared folders or team workspaces.

A PDF made only of page images carries no words to read, so a scan needs a text version first. And Docwise will not decide for you what a document means for your case: it shows you the sentence and the page, and you make the call.
